Who Global Village suits, and who should skip it
Dubai Global Village is a night-time festival park on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311), next to Dubailand. Season 31 runs under the theme “A More Wonderful World” and brings together 29 country pavilions covering more than 90 cultures, over 3,500 shops, more than 250 places to eat, a funfair of 200-plus rides and games, and around 40,000 shows a season. It suits families, groups of friends and anyone who enjoys browsing, snacking and people-watching for a few hours. It is less fun if you dislike crowds, because Thursday to Saturday nights are packed.

Fireworks, parades and shows
- Fireworks: the musical fireworks show runs on Friday and Saturday evenings at 9pm, with extra shows on big occasions such as National Day and New Year. Times can change, so check the day’s schedule in the app. Find an open spot with a clear view of the sky about 15 minutes before.
- Parades: weekly parades wind through the park, with street performers and drummers popping up between the pavilions.
- Anchor shows: new this season are Bollywood Idol, a music and dance story about two brothers on different paths, and Bank Heist, an acrobatic show inspired by true crime stories. Slam returns.
- Stunt show: Fast Live 2: The Police Strikes Back is the new car stunt show.
- Kids Theatre: returns with Care Bears and PJ Masks characters.
- Main stage: concerts, cultural performances and country nights run through the season.
Last season packed in more than 40,000 shows with around 450 performers. Look at the show times in the Global Village app when you arrive and plan your walk around the one or two performances you really want to see.
Pavilions: what is new and what to see
This season has 29 pavilions representing more than 90 cultures, each mixing shopping, food and live performances. The Sri Lanka pavilion and the Russia and Azerbaijan pavilion have been refreshed, and the Syria and Kuwait pavilions return with new façades. A new Season 31 Passport, plus a separate Kids Passport, lets you collect a stamp at the stamping station in every pavilion, which turns the evening into a treasure hunt for children.
Beyond the pavilions, the Gardens of the World, a landscaped walk with floral displays and miniature landmarks linking the Egypt and China pavilions, returns with a refreshed design, and The Dragon Kingdom is a walk-through adventure across 11 themed rooms. For shopping, Africa is known for woodwork, instruments and natural beauty products, Turkey and Egypt for lamps, carpets and brassware, and Yemen and Saudi Arabia for honey, dates and spices.
See our Global Village pavilions guide for the full list, what each one sells and which are worth your time on a short visit.
Where to eat at Global Village
There are more than 250 dining options, so the best plan is three or four small bites to share rather than one big meal.
| Food area | What it is | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Floating Market | East Asian street food along the canal, by the light-up dragon | Skewers, noodles and dumplings with a view; last season skewers started from about AED 5 and most dishes were AED 45 to AED 50 |
| Happiness Street | A walkway of food you can eat on the move | Snacks such as lobster rolls and luqaimat to share |
| Dessert District | The candy-themed former Railway Market, with a refreshed façade this season | Desserts and photos |
| Fiesta Street | Street food kiosks mixed with shopping stalls | Quick family meals |
| Restaurant Plaza | Sit-down restaurants, with three new concepts: Robo Al Sham (Levantine), Hawawshi Al Rabie (Egyptian) and Chicking (fried chicken) | A proper meal and a seat |
| Indian Chaat Bazaar | Pani puri, aloo tikki and other chaat | Groups ordering several plates |
Other newcomers include Trabzon Turkish Restaurant and three cafés: Vinci Dolci, Emir Bey Gourmet and Uzungol Café. Stalls and prices change every season, so treat last season’s prices as a guide.
Global Village with kids
- Toddlers and young children: gentle rides such as the Holland Wind Wheel and Arabian Horses, the Kids Theatre, and two indoor play spaces: The Little Wonderers adventure park, and Orange Wheels edutainment centre near the Gate of the World entrance. You need a Global Village ticket to enter Orange Wheels.
- Older children: the Festival Wheel, California Highway, Amazon Boats and the parades, subject to height rules.
- Teens: the bigger Carnaval rides, the Wheel of the World ferris wheel at about 58 metres, the Horror Hotel, The Dragon Kingdom, Secrets of the Lost City, Exo Planet City and Ripley’s Believe It or Not.
- Coming later: Tokyo Rush, a new roller coaster with a loop, opens later in the season with no date announced yet.
Each ride has its own height rules and some need an adult to ride along, so check the sign at the ride. With young children, arrive at 4pm before the crowds build, bring or rent a baby cart, and use the mothers’ rooms dotted around the park.
Global Village parking and gates
Global Village has three gates: Gate of the World, which now has bilingual Arabic and English signs, Happiness Gate, which has extra ticket counters this season, and Cultural Gate, which has new LED lighting. The approach tunnel from the Sharjah side has also been given a new theme. Free parking is close enough for most visitors, but it fills by 7pm on busy nights.
| Car park | Cost | Walk |
|---|---|---|
| P1 and P3 | Free | About 400 m to Gate of the World |

How to plan a Global Village evening
- Pick one must-see. A pavilion, a show or the fireworks. Building the night around it stops you zigzagging across the park.
- Arrive at 4pm on a weekday to walk the pavilions in daylight while it is quiet, or about 30 minutes before sunset to see the park both by day and lit up.
- Eat early. Food areas are calmest before 7pm.
- Stay for the lights. Shows, the Carnaval and the Wheel of the World are at their best after dark.
- Wear comfortable shoes and bring a power bank. You will walk for hours, and October evenings are still warm, so carry water.
National Day weekend on 2 and 3 December and the Christmas to New Year stretch are the most crowded periods of the season. Check our UAE public holidays 2027 guide before picking a date.
