UAE Cue is an independent guide to going out in the United Arab Emirates. We help residents and visitors decide where to go and plan the day properly: what is open, what it costs, when to go, how long to allow and what to know before you leave home. Our guides cover all seven emirates, from city parks and beaches to mountain trails, desert reserves, museums, theme parks and the festivals and holidays that shape the year.
The name says what we do. A cue is the signal that tells you when to act, and the UAE runs on cues: the first cool week of October that opens the outdoor season, the moon sighting that confirms Eid, the opening night of Global Village, the new moon that makes the desert dark enough for the Milky Way. We track those cues so you do not have to.
What we cover
UAE Cue is organised into nine hubs, each with its own guides:
- What’s on and seasonal openings: when seasonal attractions, markets and festivals open and close, with dates, hours and status.
- Holidays and seasons: public holidays, long weekends, school breaks, Ramadan and Eid planning, and the weather month by month.
- Beaches and coast: free public beaches, paid beach clubs, night swimming, camping on the coast and the east coast’s sunrise beaches.
- Parks, lakes and nature reserves: city parks with fees and gates, desert lakes, wetlands, mangroves and flamingo spots.
- Mountains, wadis and hiking: trails with distances and grades, mountain roads, viewpoints, hot springs and waterfalls.
- Landmarks, museums and heritage: what to see, what it costs, dress codes and how long to allow.
- Theme parks, water parks and zoos: prices decoded, offers compared, age and height rules, and which park suits whom.
- Adventures, desert and camping: camping rules by emirate, stargazing, cycling, kayaking and desert trips.
- Things to do and day trips: timed day plans for every emirate, free things to do and ideas for families.
We focus on outings and leisure. We do not publish guides to visas, government services, fines, transport passes, telecoms, banking or gold prices, and we point readers to the official authority for those subjects.
How our guides work
Every guide is built the same way, so you can find what you need quickly:
- The answer first. The opening paragraph answers the question you searched for: is it open, what does it cost, when should you go.
- An at-a-glance box. The key facts, such as entry price, hours, status and best time, sit in one box near the top, with the date we last checked them.
- Tables you can compare. Prices, gates, trails and opening days are laid out in tables rather than buried in paragraphs.
- Status and update logs. Seasonal and event pages say clearly whether something has been announced, and keep a short log of what changed and when.
- Conflicts stated openly. When official sources and listings disagree, we tell you, give the range and say which source to trust.
- Practical detail. Parking, dress codes, age and height rules, what to bring, safety notes and the best time of day.
Who writes UAE Cue
UAE Cue is written and maintained by the UAE Cue Editorial Team. We research each place from the operator’s own website, government and tourism authority sources, and recent official announcements, and we check prices and dates against a second reliable source before publishing. Our full process, including how we handle corrections, is set out in our editorial policy.
We do not copy listings from ticket resellers or directories, and we do not publish opening hours or prices we cannot trace back to a reliable source. We do not claim first-hand experiences we have not had. When a detail comes only from visitor reports, we say so.
How we keep guides up to date
Opening hours, ticket prices and season dates in the UAE change often, and many attractions open only from October to May. Each guide shows a “Last checked” date in its at-a-glance box and an updated date at the top. Seasonal pages are reviewed during their season, event pages are updated as programmes are announced, and holiday pages change as soon as official dates are confirmed. Expected dates, such as Eid holidays that depend on the moon, are always labelled as expected.
Independence
UAE Cue is not owned by, affiliated with or paid by any attraction, operator, hotel, tour company, ticket seller or government body. We do not accept payment to include a place, to rank it, or to change what we say about it. If the site carries advertising, ads are clearly separated from our guides and advertisers have no say in our content. If we ever publish sponsored content or use affiliate links, they will be labelled clearly on the page.
What we will never do
- Sell tickets, take bookings or take payments for any attraction.
- Publish a price, date or opening hour we cannot source.
- Present an expected date as confirmed.
- Hide a closure, a price rise or a safety concern to make a place look better.
- Pass your details to attractions or advertisers.
Using UAE Cue safely
Our guides are planning tools. Conditions change, and some outings, such as desert drives, mountain hikes, wadis and sea swimming, carry real risks in the UAE’s heat and weather. Always confirm important details with the official source before you travel, and read our disclaimer for the limits of the information we publish.
